top. German or French around 1900An old beer barrel carved out of walnut
partial cover of vegetation in which two hares / rabbits are resting, one upon the lying corn above
of the barrel and the other one besides down. The lock and hinges are of brass and still working.

besides of the rattan seat is totally carved in the typical black
forest, branch bark or tree surface design, made out of oak wood. Elaborated in good artistic quality.
The chair comes still in very desirable, sturdy condition with minor losses and original grown
patina as shown at the pictures. Age / provenance: c. ca. 1880, most likely of German origin.

#3081- Black Forest Tankard. German carved
Tankard made out of fruitwood with drinking man and resting deer / stag on the lid . The
body is covered by a carved forest with 3 more deers , 2 birds / eagles ? and a hidden wild boar
meanwhile the handle is decorated with 2 entwined snakes. Condition : 2 chips at the lower rimm of the lid were
carefully restored and there is a minor loss of a carved detail at the body , inside it comes with
remaing rests of pitch sealing as shown at the pictures otherwise fine with the usual traces of age and wear.
Provenance /Age : most likely of bavarian origen / dates from the first half of the nineteenth century

The policrome painted sculpures are carved out of limewood ( linden ) and some pine at the bases,
come as found with considerabele traces of wear and age, grown patina and several old restared
details as well as losses, as shown at the pictures. on the bottom two spikes are lost, beak of goose
and the bretzel which Moritz is holding can be fixed on request. If desired.

Designed as a neatly piled stack of logs bound thogheter in octagonal geometry which in the middle is slightly
thinner. The log pile itself resting over solid also carved feets.
Dimensions app.: 19” high, 14.8” deep and 27.5” long including the handles.
Condition: an eventually later clasp missing, otherwise fine and sturdy without bending or wormholes, as shown.
